#5 Highest score batting at No.10 - Walter Read
Ad

It was The Oval in the year 1884. Australia had put on a huge total of 551 runs on the board and in reply, England were bowled out for 311 and asked to follow on. In the second innings, with the score at 181/8, Walter Read joined the opener William Scotton and scored 117. It is, for the last 134 years of Test cricket, the highest score ever to be recorded by a No.10 batsman.
