He made his first class debut against Hyderabad and suddenly grabbed the limelight in the next few years. Rasool had a fabulous 2012-13 domestic season in which he led with both bat and ball for his team in the Ranji Trophy. Rasool made history when he became the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to sign a IPL contract by signing with Pune for the tournament's sixth edition.

Parvez Rasool also made history by becoming the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to be included in the national squad in 2013 for a tour to Zimbabwe and eventually made his ODI debut in 2014 against Bangladesh, becoming the first cricketer from his state to represent India at the highest level. In the 65 match first class career, Parvez Rasool has scored 3670 runs claiming 189 wickets in the process.
