#1 Afghanistan 27.5 overs, 109 all out vs India, 2018
The 12th cricketing nation to play Test cricket had made rapid strides in the last decade to get their Test status and with their maiden Test lined up against the No. 1 ranked side in the world, Afghanistan knew their task was cut out. At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Afghanistan first lost the toss and were hammered to all parts of the ground by India who scored 474.
Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay both slammed tons to lay a strong platform for the hosts and some useful contributions from the lower order, got past the 450-run mark.In response, the visitors were shot out for a mere 109 in just 27.5 overs, thereby making it the shortest ever Test innings for a team playing their first Test.
The new-ball bowlers in Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav first struck to peg them back and the two spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja combined to take six wickets between them to bundle out the visitors inside a session. It was a harsh reality check for the Afghans who had come back rather well after a hammering on the first day where they conceded 347 runs.
