The Afghanistan cricket team is the twelfth Test cricket playing full member nation. The Afghanistan Cricket Board was formed in 1995 and became an affiliate member of ICC in 2001. On 22nd June 2017 along with Ireland, Afghanistan was granted a full ICC membership.
