The legendary Pakistan fast bowler always preferred to use the long handle to good effect and shattered the history books when he made 257 against Zimbabwe in Sheikhpura in 1996.

During his knock, Akram hit 12 sixes and it still is the highest number of sixes in a Test innings by any batsman. Akram also shared a record 313-run partnership with Saqlain Mushtaq to propel the Pakistan total to 553. Akram’s 257 is also the highest score by any number 8 batsman in Tests.

The match was drawn and one should credit Akram for his batting heroics. The man, who has 916 international wickets, will surely be proud of this unbelievable achievement which he achieved with the bat.
