Australia fined for slow over-rate in the first T20

Australian captain Aaron Finch has been fined for slow over-rate during his team's 4-run win over India in the first of the ongoing three-match T20I series. Australian captain Finch was fined 20% of his match fee while the rest of the team faced a fine of 10% of their fee. The right-hander was reprimanded for his team falling short by one over even after the time constraints were taken into consideration.
A media release stated, "Finch pleaded guilty to the offence after the end of the match and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing."
With this, Finch could end up facing a one-year ban if his team repeats the same offence again in the next 12 months.
