The Baroda cricketer had not had the greatest of IPL campaigns, having picked up a mere 10 wickets, but like Vinay Kumar had featured in the scheme of things in the past year, having played a major role in India’s 4-1 ODI series win over Sri Lanka away from home.
However, that tour to Sri Lanka proved to be the last year of international cricket that Pathan and despite not playing a single game in the group stages of the Champions Trophy, he ended up being a part of the title winning team.
