The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the domestic T20 league of Bangladesh established in the year 2012.

There are seven competing teams in the league - Chittagong Vikings, Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Dynamites, Khulna Titans, Rajshahi Kings, Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Sixers. Out of these, the Dhaka Dynamites (formerly the Dhaka Gladiators), who won the inaugural edition, are the most successful, having won the title thrice - in 2012, 2013 and 2016.

Veteran Mashrafe Mortaza guided them to their first two titles, while star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan led them to glory in the fourth edition. In the last season though, the Dynamites finished as the runners-up after losing to Rangpur Riders by 57 runs in the final.

T20 stalwarts Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum took the game away from Dhaka as they pummeled the bowling to take Rangpur's total to 206/1 in 20 overs, which Shakib's men failed to chase down.
