#7 Steven Finn
While there have been several hat-tricks in ODIs, only six hat-tricks had been taken in a World Cup game. On Valentine's day 2015, Steven Finn became the seventh bowler to take a hat-trick in the tournament but unfortunately for him, he joined Lasith Malinga as the only other bowler to take one in a World Cup and still end up on the losing side.
In their opening game of the 2015 World Cup, England took on Australia. Having won the toss, England elected to field and a century from Aaron Finch and fifties from George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell meant that England were made to regret their decision. Their only solace came from an unlikely hat-trick for Finn, who went into the final over of the innings with figures of 63/2 from 9 overs.
Three wickets off the last three balls of the match gave Finn a hat-trick, a five-for and England something to cheer as they went into the dressing room. However, it proved to be too much for the visitors who, despite an unbeaten 98 from James Taylor could only muster 231 before being bowled out.
