Following a thrilling ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, the action shifts to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) again. Afghanistan and Bangladesh will lock horns in a three-match ODI series in the UAE starting Tuesday, November 6.
Despite speculation about his potential resignation, Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to captain the Bangladesh side. However, they will be without the services of Shakib Al Hasan, who has opted out of the series.
Afghanistan, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, will be confident after their recent 2-1 series victory over South Africa. Both teams will look to use the series to prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
On that note, here are some important numbers you need to know from previous ODIs played in Sharjah, that will host all three ODIs of this series.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Pitch Report
With the match scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST, players would find it difficult to handle the scorching heat. Hence, the team winning the toss is expected to bat first.
While the ball came to the bat decently in the recent Afghanistan vs South Africa series, don't expect huge totals. The Sharjah surface is likely to be on the slower side. Spinners have taken more wickets (40) at the venue compared to the pacers (28) in five ODIs this year.
Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah last ODI
Afghanistan will be confident while playing in Sharjah as it is the same venue where they recorded a 2-1 ODI series win over South Africa. In the last match, on September 22, the Proteas won the dead rubber.
Batting first, Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the sole bright spot for the Afghans as he made 89 off 94. Hence, they could only make 169 runs on the board.
In reply, South Africa saw starts from every batter, with skipper Aiden Markram top-scoring with an unbeaten 69. Tristan Stubbs also remained not out on 26.
