The defending champions, Mumbai Indians may not have had a stellar campaign, but there was one player that shone amidst the gloom, was Suryakumar Yadav.

After having spent most of his time finishing games for KKR in the middle-order, Yadav was racked up by the Mumbai Indians in this year's auction and was given the opportunity to open the innings alongside Evin Lewis.

Yadav was the bedrock of Mumbai Indians batting, as he accumulated 512 runs across fourteen matches at an average of 36.57, and a swashbuckling strike-rate of 133.33, including four fifties.
