#1 Vintage Dhoni shows up

MS Dhoni was a tentative link in the team when the series started. Without any match practice to boast of, Dhoni came to Australia, with a form that questioned his place in the side. But the MSD who showed up on the field seemed to have come here after taking a oath of silencing all his critics.
His batting rediscovered itself, this series, with 3 half centuries in 3 matches. Last time this magic mesmerized the cricketing world was way back in 2014. Dhoni is back and no one will doubt that from now.

However, Dhoni's ideal batting position still carries a question mark along with it. In the past few years, Dhoni has been taking time in the initial phase of the innings, with a strike-rate that is between 40-50. In such cases, Dhoni coming in at No.4 would be ideal.
But, if Dhoni is able to improve his strike-rate going in right from ball 1 that he faces, he could come at No.5 as well. Dhoni at No.4 or No.5, can still finish games and that is what we saw in the 2nd and 3rd ODI. His finishing skills have also started to surface again.
Will we be able to witness a repeat of the 2011 World Cup? Well, that is a question that will answered only when the World Cup starts. But as of now, Dhoni is back to being very promising with the bat.
