The presence of Rohit Sharma in the lower middle-order is providing phenomenal stability to their batting line-up. Rohit impressed everyone with a patient 63 in the first inning of the Boxing Day Test. He was unbeaten when India declared their innings at 443.
The ODI superstar has also scored a quick fire 35 in the first Test before losing his spot because of injury in the second Test. Rohit's position in the playing XI is safe after an impressive first innings half-century.
#7 Rishabh Pant
The young wicket-keeper showed everyone that he can adjust to the team's necessity and pitch condition as he played cautiously in the Boxing Day Test. Pant scored 39 runs and got out in the process to accelerate before India's declaration.
The 21-year-old steadied the ship in the 2nd innings with a quickfire 33 off 44 balls helping India to declare their second innings fast.
Pant looked assured behind the wicket too. Apart from a couple of instances, Pant's wicketkeeping was majorly impressive.
