#4 Virat Kohli - 6 centuries
The Indian skipper has delivered many memorable performances when competing against the Australian unit. His maiden Test ton was during the tour of Australia in 2012, and he followed that by more hundreds in the series held in 2013 and 2014-15.
While he could register only a solitary ton during the home series against Australia in 2013, the overseas Test duels held a year later saw the Delhi lad reaching an all-time high of four tons in four games.
To this date, that remains one of his best performances in red-ball cricket.
#2 Sunil Gavaskar - 8 centuries
The original 'little master' was a nightmare for the Australian side from the early 70s to the late 80s.
While other Indian cricketers would find it difficult to face the likes of Dennis Lilee and Jeff Thomson, Gavaskar would take on the mantle and bash the deadly bowling duo for a barrage of boundaries without breaking a sweat.
In 20 matches played against the Aussies, the veteran of 125 Tests and 10,122 runs accumulated a tally of eight centuries and four half-centuries. Gavaskar was truly a legend in every sense of the term.
#1 Sachin Tendulkar - 11 centuries
The Master Blaster was one of the greatest bashers of the Australian unit regardless of the ferocity they exhibited when in the middle. His run tally and average when competing against the Aussies are a testimony of why he will always be rated higher than most other cricketers.
In 39 Tests played against the Australian unit, the Mumbaikar whacked a total of 11 centuries and 15 half-centuries, in the process aggregating 3,630 runs under his belt. He rightly occupies the apex position in this list of leading centurions against Australia.
