After enthralling battles across Australia, we enter the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), a historic venue that will host one of the most important Tests of this season. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) is about to come to fruition with the fifth Test in Sydney starting from January 3, Friday.
Historically, this ground has been an Australian stronghold. However, India has given them a tough fight in the last few tours and managed to secure draws, if not wins.
Ahead of the fifth BGT Test, here are some important numbers you need to know from previous Tests played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

SCG pitch report: How could Sydney Cricket Ground play in 5th IND vs AUS Test?
This could be a ground that finally favours India! After some heavy bounce in Brisbane and Melbourne, SCG will be a more traditional Test match pitch, with batters finding it a bit easy in the first two days before bowlers kick in.
Spinners will be of huge importance in this match and India will be tempted to give more overs to Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Matches here often go till the fifth day, but we have some rain predicted later in the Test.
Last Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Test
The last Test here was between Australia and Pakistan, the third of the three-match Test series last year. While Australia completed a comfortable whitewash, it was Aamer Jamal, who won the player of the match award for his all-round heroics.
The Sydney Test was the farewell match for modern-day great David Warner, who bid adieu with scores of 34 & 57. Australia made 299 in the first innings after Pakistan clubbed 313. However, Australian bowlers came to the fore in the second innings, bowling Pakistan out for 115. While pacers took 22 wickets, spinners claimed 10 wickets in that match.
