Australian team make up to Ross Taylor in dressing room for having ignored his record score

Ross Taylor’s 290 in the 2nd Test in Perth was the highest score by a touring batsman in Australia for 112 years, and the Australian team’s failure to acknowledge the feat on the field of play has led to a lot of criticism directed at them recently.

Perhaps in a bid to make up, several of the Australian players and coach Darren Lehmann have been seen shaking Taylor’s hands in the dressing room after the match. Taylor himself attempted to downplay the incident, unlike the sporting world who have swooped on the unsporting nature of the Australian team.

There has been widespread criticism from former internationals at the lack of grace and sportsmanship from the Australia team.

While Taylor was walking back after his mammoth effort, the Australian team were congratulating and celebrating at the other end of the field. In contrast, the Kiwi players gave Mitchell Johnson a guard of honour as he came out to bat in his last Test.
