Current India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has received a compensation of over Rs 2.2 crore by the BCCI last month as he missed the 2015 season of the Indian Premier League because of a knee injury. Despite the injury, Shami played the Cricket World Cup, and this aggravated his injury.

According to BCCI's June 2016 payments of over Rs 25 lakh, available on BCCI.Tv, Shami was paid Rs 2,23,12,500 for "Loss of pay for IPL season 2015 due to injury."

Shami was one of the premier fast bowlers during the 2015 World Cup, and also during the tour to Australia and New Zealand. He was the fifth most successful bowler in the tournament as he picked up 17 wickets in India's 5 matches.

This is a very generous and noteworthy move made by the BCCI as they have compensated a player who despite the injury kept at it and gave it all for the country. It was because of the injury that he was not able to take part in the 2015 IPL, and hence this compensation is only fair.

After spending a lot of time on the sidelines, Shami has finally been picked in the Indian test team which is touring the West Indies, and will be one of the prime bowlers for Virat Kohli. The skipper has already heaped praises on the Bengal pacer and has said that he is a perfect bowler for Test cricket.

“Best thing is if its seaming and swinging, he can bowl the conventional line and length. If it’s reverse swinging, he knows exactly where to bring the ball from. He has a great sense and feel of how to get a batsman out. We are working on the aspect of mental strength of his game. The thing that we push for him is more consistency", Kohli said.

Apart from this, the BCCI also put out details of officials for this year's IPL and the list includes former Test fast bowler Javagal Srinath (Rs 26 lakh) and ex-Kerala Ranji Trophy leg spinner K N Ananthapadmanabhan (Rs 26 lakh).

Also, various centres affiliated to the BCCI received monetary dues. These include MCA, TNCA and CAB.
