The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today put out an invitation for the post of National selectors. The applications include selectors for the post of senior, junior and women national selectors. Also, the board has put down few ground rules for the applications to be considered. The last date to apply for the post is September 14. The applicants should be less than 60 years to be considered for the job.
The applicants who wish to put forward their name should have represented India in Test or Limited overs matches, or they should have played more than or equal to 50 first-class matches. The applicants for the post of junior selector should have experience of playing more than 50 first-class matches in India. International criteria is not mandatory for junior selectors.
The board has made it clear that any person who has already as National selector for four years will not be eligible for the job. Apart from this, the person should not be involved in any IPL management team or any other franchise-based league anywhere in the world. Another rule which is paramount is that the applicant should have retired at least 5 years prior to the date of application.
Also, if the candidates are roped in they will have to sever all ties with any cricket coaching academy, and also should not be associated with any media organisation.
