According to the reports circulating in the media, the BCCI is set to discuss its future plans with the under-fire Indian cricket team coach Duncan Fletcher.
Sanjay Patel, the board secretary has been assigned with the job. He will be wasting no time, and the meeting will happen on the sidelines of the World Cup T20 in Bangladesh. Following his return, a report will be presented by Patel to BCCI president N Srinivasan regarding the discussions with Fletcher.
Earlier, it was suggested that the BCCI will likely be reviewing the contract of Fletcher after the conclusion of World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.
Under Fletcher, India have had a miserable three years, failing to win a single match in any of their past four overseas Test tours. To add to that, India have had little success in one-day cricket, too, with the sole exception being the Champions Trophy 2013 triumph. The series of home victories masked his inefficiency as a coach for a while, but not long enough for the next set of overseas tours, which begun from late 2013, to show how little the Indian team has improved.
India will take on Pakistan in the World Cup T20 opener on March 21. Meanwhile, both Fletcher and MS Dhoni have avoided any contact with the media.
