Virat Kohli was in the form of his life when India toured Australia for an ODI series in 2016. Just as Kohli began trying to increase India's scoring rate in the third ODI at the MCG, Faulkner delivered four beautiful deliveries in the 35th over, preventing Kohli from hitting beyond the inner circle.

The fifth ball saw the Indian skipper step down the wicket and guide the ball to the off side for a single. As Kohli was completing his run, Faulkner channelled his inner Aussie spirit and could be seen saying something to him, most probably to the tune of ‘You tried to smash me there, but you failed.’

He had tried to rattle Kohli after the third ball of the same over, to which Kohli had reacted by looking down and waving him away. This time though, he was at the non-striker’s end and he had to respond.

The stump mic clearly caught Kohli saying, "I’ve smashed you enough in my life. No point. Don’t waste your time, go bowl." He went on to score a century in that match.
