Former Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder player, Chris Jordan has signed with the Perth Scorchers for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League, which starts on the 17th of December. Jordan will be available for the entire tournament, including the finals, provided they qualify for the same.
Jordan expressed joy and eagerness to represent the three-time BBL champions and said that the deal was hard to reject considering the team's success over the years. Speaking to reporters, he said:
"When the opportunity for Perth came up it was as pretty hard one to turn down… I know from playing against them how competitive they are, how successful they are, so I'm really looking forward to joining such a great franchise."
n 43 T20Is, Jordan has claimed 54 wickets and also scored 216 runs at a batting strike-rate of 130.12. His all-round abilities made him a strong pick for Scorchers’ coach Adam Voges. Speaking about the complete package, including his out-field athleticism, Voges stated:
He's got great experience in T20 cricket and will do a terrific job with ball, particularly his skills at the death… He also provides the all-round package with athleticism in the field and strong batting skills which will be great for the fans.
Scorchers will find Jordan an important asset considering the absences of left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff due to a back injury, Andrew Tye because of an elbow issue and the departing Nathan Coulter-Nile.
