Muralitharan was a giant performer for the island nation. His staggering numbers are a testimony to his hard work and passion for the game. At the end of his career, he finished as the leading wicket-taker in ODIs and Tests, with 534 and 800 wickets respectively.
Sri Lanka won 202 of the 350 ODIs he was part of. During that period, he bowled 10,950 deliveries, conceding 6710 runs and picked up 368 wickets at an average of 18.23 including 13 four wicket hauls and 9 five wicket hauls.
He is also the second highest wicket-taker in World Cup history with 68 wickets. Recently, Muralitharan became the first Sri Lankan cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
