Brett Lee to play lead actor in Bollywood film "UnIndian"

Brett Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee

Brett Lee, former Australian fast bowler, is set to make debut as a lead-actor in the romantic comedy UnIndian. Lee is playing a teacher who introduces migrants to Australian language and culture named “Will”. The lead actress is taken up by Tannishtha Chatterjee who portrays a divorced career woman who is constantly urged to marry "a nice Indian man".

Binga, however, is already a big name in India aside from the fact he was an ace cricketer. He recorded a single with legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle in 2007 titled You’re the one for me and played himself in a Bollywood film in 2009 named Victory.

"The last 20 years of cricket has been like an acting job. You get out there and you play this part.

“I have a lot of belief in Indian culture and a lot of belief in the script. It’s a romantic comedy and I loved it. I’ve had some offers to do Bollywood but I wasn’t ready, this film seems to fit my character and to work with such a stellar cast and crew is great.

“I've done a few little cameos before and I've done heaps of commercials but to do a feature film is absolutely incredible," he says. "I'm not doing a little walk-through cameo. This is full-on," the 37-year-old said, speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Lee, who has 310 Test and 380 ODI wickets, retired from all forms of International cricket in 2012. However, he is still very much part of the domestic T20 circuit and will be playing for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.
