Brett Lee to become bowling mentor of the Knight Riders

Brett Lee has now been given a new role for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The pace bowling spearhead will now take up the additional leadership role as bowling mentor for the team.

Venky Mysore, the CEO of the Knight Riders, announced the decision the to appoint the Australian to become the mentor of the bowling unit. “We are fortunate that someone of the caliber of Brett Lee, who in addition to being a key member of the team, will also mentor the bowling unit. The bowling unit and the entire team will benefit from Brett’s leadership in this area.”

On accepting this role, Brett Lee said that his 3 year experience with the Kolkata Knight Riders has been fantastic. He went on to say that the team has become a ‘closely-knit unit’, owing to the leadership of team captain Gambhir and head coach Trevor Bayliss.

“As we get ready for IPL 2013 as the defending champions, I am honored to take on this additional responsibility.” said the Australian bowler.
