Chand to lead India in U-19 cricket World Cup

Mumbai - Delhi boy Unmukt Chand will lead the 15-member Indian team at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup to be held in Australia in August.

Uttar Pradesh’s Akshdeep Nath has been appointed as the vice-captain. Chand has been the man in from with the bat and also scored a brilliant 121 in the tied Asia Cup final against Pakistan.

Tamil Nadu’s Baba Aparajith, who scored a valiant 90 in the tied match, also finds a place in the squad. Medium pacer Rush Kalaria, who bagged five for 37 in the final, has also been included.

The squad: Unmukt Chand (captain), Akshdeep Nath, Manan Vohra, Akhil Herwadkar, Vijay Zol, Sandipan Das, B. Aparajith, Prashant Chopra, Sandeep Sharma, Kamal Passi, Rush Kalaria, Mohsin Sayyed, Smit Patel (wicketkeeper), Harmeet Singh and Vikas Mishra
