Devastating Queensland batsman Chris Lynn smashed and blasted on way to an entertaining 259 for Toombul in a Queensland Premier Cricket clash against Northern Suburbs at Ken Mackay Oval on Saturday, a top class showing which confirms he is back from injury.
Lynn had been named Queensland captain earlier this year, before he hurt his shoulder while attempting a full-length dive during a fielding drill in September, plunging his team and his own career into temporary despair. However, he is back, and raring to resume action in Australia’s domestic cricket, according to Cricket Australia.
Playing his second match since recovery, Lynn blasted 21 sixes on way to a commanding innings of 259, scoring at a strike rate above 100. The next highest score from Toombul was 39.
Lynn’s innings helped his team to an imposing 8(dec)-391, with Northern Suburbs limping to 0-22 in reply before stumps were called.
Shoulder is really good: Lynn
With an average of 28 and a strike rate of 137 in T20s, Lynn also stands a chance to make it into Australia’s squad for the World T20 next year.
"The shoulder is really good," Lynn said this week.
"I played club cricket last weekend, nine weeks from when I dislocated my shoulder.
"I'm aiming for a possible Shield game before the Big Bash, but if I don't make that I'll definitely be right for Big Bash."
