On 30th November 2014, Khurram Khan of United Arab Emirates became the oldest player to score a hundred in an ODI. At the age of 43 years and 162 days, Khurram scored an unbeaten 132 against Afghanistan at Dubai.
He broke the record of Sanath Jayasuriya to become the oldest player to score a ton. It was also the veteran southpaw’s maiden ton in ODIs.
Chasing 280, Khurram exhibited his wide range of strokes to torment the Afghan bowlers and helped his side chase the target with consummate ease.
Showing a calm head, he hit 17 fours and a six and stitched an important partnership with Mohammad Shahzad to lead his side to the total.
