5 less noticed cricket records that may surprise you

Sachin and Warne are good mates off the field

Undoubtedly, like many other sports, cricket is also a game of numbers and records. There are many well-known records that most of us have heard of. Many of us know about Bradman’s 99.94 Test average or Sachin’s 100 international centuries.Every cricket fan has an idea about Murali’s international wicket haul or Sir Jack Hobbs’ first class records. But there are few records that we may not come across or we have not noticed. Here are five unknown records that may surprise you on any given day:

#1 Sachin Tendulkar - More five wicket hauls than Shane Warne in ODIs

Sachin and Warne are good mates off the field

Can you believe this? Yeah, it is hard to believe that Sachin has more five-wicket hauls than Warne. Sachin Tendulkar had two five-wicket hauls; one against Australia and the other against Pakistan. Shane Warne, on the other hand, has only one fifer which he took against West Indies in the year 1996.

We know that Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne were always rivals on the field and many times Sachin did get the better of Warne; this time around Tendulkar has beaten him by taking more five-wicket hauls than him.

Sachin had taken 154 wickets for India in 463 matches as a part-timer while Warney had taken 293 wickets in 194 ODIs for Australia.

#2 Jacques Kallis - Only two 200s in his entire test career

Kallis had made his career best 224 runs against Sri Lanka in Test cricket in 2012

Jacques Kallis, one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket, has made 45 centuries in Test cricket, which is the second most in the format after Sachin Tendulkars 51 centuries. But there is a massive surprise here he has only scored two double hundreds in his Test career.

He made 201 against India in 2010 and 224 runs against Sri Lanka in 2012. Being an all-rounder, he had scored 13289 runs and taken 292 wicktes in 166 Test matches for South Africa. Currently, he is the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.

#3 MS Dhoni - Only player to score two ODI hundreds at no.7

He is always known for doing special things on cricket field

Indias ODI captain and wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni holds this unique record in ODI cricket. No batsman other than him has achieved this feat in this format till this date. It is not always easy to score a century for your team after coming to bat at no.7,but he has done that twice one time against Africa XI in 2007 and the second time against Pakistan in 2012.
