Shastri explains Kohli's Asia Cup miss
Virat Kohli is a busy cricketer, one who has been breaking batting records across seasons and handling captaincy with equal dedication, despite tight international schedules. His decision to skip the Asia Cup, and yet play the West Indies series, did not go down too well with a section of the public, as well as experts of the game.
Coach Ravi Shastri has clarified that Kohli needed rest to get rid of mental fatigue:
"Virat needed this rest. Physically he is a bull. You can't give him out of the ground. And the thing with Virat is if he plays, then you know the level of intensity he brings. So it was a case of just mental fatigue, giving him a break, take your mind off cricket and then come back fresh," he was quoted as saying according to Gulf News.
