Kohli distances himself from Karun Nair controversy
Captain Virat Kohli has distanced himself from the controversy regarding the lack of communication between the BCCI and ousted batsman Karun Nair, stating that the selectors are doing their jobs and have already spoken about the issue.
"Selection is not my job. As a team, we are doing what we are supposed to. Everyone should be aware of their respective jobs. Selectors have already spoken about it and it is not my place to say. There are selectors doing their job," Kohli said.
"You can conveniently merge everything and make it a circle where everyone is doing their job and not focusing on what people are saying on the outside," he said.
In a recent interview, Karun Nair had revealed that there had been no communication with the selectors regarding his non-selection from the England Tests and exclusion from the West Indies series.
Chief selector MSK Prasad had, however, come out in the open and clarified his stance, saying that he had personally spoken to Nair and that the committee was 'very very clear' about the communication process.
