#2 Pravin Tambe barred from participating in IPL 2020
KKR's INR 20 lakh buy in December auction last year, Pravin Tambe was barred by the IPL council from participation in this year's competition. 48-year-old Tambe participated in a T10 league in Sharjah in 2018 and according to the BCCI rules, an Indian player can participate in any T20 or T10 tournament conducted by another board only after his retirement.
Brijesh Patel, IPL chairman stated Tambe's participation in a foreign league was unacceptable and if he was allowed to play in IPL 2020, then the rules for other players will also have to be changed accordingly.
“He (Tambe) won't be allowed to play IPL... He (Tambe) won’t be allowed otherwise we have to allow everyone... The board only allows players to play in one day, three day, four day and county cricket and each player has to seek BCCI and respective state association’s no-objection certificate.”
