#3 Southee calls Kohli 'a passionate guy' after outburst

India lost the 2-Test series against New Zealand 2-0

New Zealand pacer Tim Southee backed Virat Kohli after his verbal sendoff to Kane Williamson and a section of the crowd, stating that the Indian skipper was a 'passionate guy' who played the game too hard.

Kohli was at the receiving end of yet another controversy when he verbally sent off the opposition captain and spoke certain cuss words to a section of the crowd.

Speaking to Radio New Zealand, Southee admired Kohli's attitude towards the game and explained that the skipper always wanted to bring out the best in himself to motivate the team as well.

“He’s a very passionate guy... and very energetic in the field. He tries to bring out the best in himself.”
