#3 Wasim Jaffer creates history in Ranji Trophy

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer created history by becoming the first player to cross the 12,000-run barrier in the Ranji Trophy. Jaffer crossed the landmark while representing Vidarbha in their encounter against Kerala.
Jaffer made his debut for Mumbai in the 1997/98 season and has played 150 first-class matches, scoring a record 40 centuries in the process. Jaffer, who has been appointed as the batting coach of Kings XI Punjab, played 31 Tests for India in which he scored 1944 runs at an average of 34.10.
He also has two double hundreds to his name- 212 vs West Indies and 202 vs Pakistan but was unlucky to have not represented India in more matches.
