#2 Shubman Gill fined for dissent

Shubman Gill has been fined his entire match fees for a heated argument with the umpire in the game versus Delhi.

Prolific opener and under-19 WC winner in 2018 Shubman Gill was fined 100 percent of his match fee after getting involved in a tiff with the on-field umpires during Punjab's Ranji Trophy match against Delhi last week.

Due to this altercation, the play ay was stopped for around 10 minutes as Delhi batsman Dhruv Shorey also got involved later on. In a letter to the DDCA, BCCI general manager of cricket operation Saba Karim stated:

“We have been informed by the Match Referee P Ranganathan of your gross misbehaviour on the field of play in the captioned match... You have violated BCCI code of conduct for showing contrary to the spirit of the game during the match for which you have been fined 50 per cent of your match fees."
