The most problematic quandary in envisioning the future of the Indian team is the lack of able successors to MS Dhoni. Naman Ojha and Wriddhiman Saha are the two prime contenders as of now, with Sanju Samson being groomed as the future replacement. Often overlooked is Saurashtra wicketkeeper Sheldon Jackson, who has the best batting statistics in domestic cricket among all the above mentioned names.

He is one of the very few batsmen in the history of the sport to have never got an international cap – or even got close to one – with a first class average in excess of 50.

Very rarely does Sheldon Jackson come out to bat and not score heavily. His scores in the ongoing Duleep Trophy also stand as proof - 48*, 105, 79*.
