World Cup 2003: India won by 6 wickets
The fourth encounter in the World Cup between these two teams was at Centurion during the 2003 World Cup. Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis won the toss and opted to bat first.
The Pakistan innings saw some batting muscle-power from the veteran Saeed Anwar, who went on to score his 20th ODI century, a 126-ball 101 in the penultimate match of his career. However, no other batsmen could convert their starts as Pakistan finished with a decent score of 273/7 from 50 overs.
In return, India started with a fifty-run opening partnership between Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. Pakistan came into the game as their skipper bagged two in two, removing Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly to reduce India to 53/2.
However, Sachin Tendulkar was unperturbed by the fall of wickets as he held his end and notched up an important 75-ball 98 and with a firm half-century from Yuvraj Singh towards the end, India crossed the line with a little less than five overs to spare.
