World Cup 2011: India won by 29 runs
The second semi-final of the 2011 World Cup was played between the hosts India and their arch-rivals Pakistan. Indian skipper Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first.
India began their innings as Sehwag stroked a quick-fire 25-ball 38. With some amazing strokeplay aided by loopy fielding from Pakistan's fielders, Tendulkar scored a match-winning 85 while Suresh Raina's 39-ball unbeaten 36 took India to 260/9 from 50 overs.
Chasing a below-par total, none of the Pakistani batsmen could convert their starts. Mohammad Hafeez with his 43 and Asad Shafiq with his 30 looked solid until, post their dismissals, India made continuous breakthroughs.
Misbah-ul-Haq held fort with a patient 56 but found no support from the other end as all of the Indian bowlers used on the day picked up a couple of wickets apiece to bundle out Pakistan for 231. Sachin Tendulkar was presented with the 'man of the match' award as India went on to celebrate a 29-run win.
