A young sensation in 2003, Irfan Pathan's early success led him to be compared to the likes of Wasim Akram and though he made a great start to his international career, he soon faded away.

Similar is the story of his IPL career as he was one of the major stars when the tournament got underway in 2008, fresh off his success at the WT20 in 2007 where he was Man of the Match in the final against Pakistan.

He had a decent stint with Kings XI Punjab before he became a sort of nomad as far as the IPL was concerned.

Since then, he has been part of Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions before going unsold for the upcoming season.

With form and fitness having deserted him, it seems all is over for this boy from Baroda.
