#3 Stuart Binny
Since the retirement of Kapil Dev, India had always been searching for a genuine all-rounder. In a tournament like the World Cup, it is always great to have players who can give you an extra option by contributing with both the bat and the ball. The all-rounder had made headlines after picking up six wickets in an ODI vs Bangladesh in 2014.
There were expectations that he could do well in Australian conditions so selectors picked him for the 2015 World Cup. India had a settled combination in the World Cup as they had a very successful campaign.
The team management did not want to unsettle the winning combination which meant that Binny did not get a chance to play even a single match. The defending champions failed to defend their title in 2015 as they were eliminated by Australia in semifinals. There were many memorable performances in that tournament so it won't be a surprise if you don't remember someone who did not even play a single match.
