#4 Lost by the highest margin (Afghanistan, 2015)
The journey of the Afghanistan Cricket Team in ICC Cricket World Cup, 2015 suffered a massive jolt when they faced the home team Australia in a pool match at the WACA, Perth.
Opting to bat first, Australia posted the highest total in World Cup history (417-6), courtesy of a breath-taking knock of 178 runs by David Warner who bashed the Afghan bowlers with 19 boundaries and 5 sixes.
The Afghan batsmen succumbed to a fearsome spell of 7.3-0-22-4 by Mitchell Johnson and lost the match by a huge margin of 275 runs.
#3 Most Consecutive Defeats (Zimbabwe)
Zimbabwe holds one of the most infamous records in World Cups. The losing streak started when they lost a group match against India in 1983 and finally ended when they won against England in 1992. They had a win-less run in 1987 World Cup due to this losing streak, which ended against England in 1992 after 18 matches.
Once regarded as one of the best teams in World Cricket, Zimbabwe's cricket graph has plunged down gradually to irrecoverable state. Currently they hold the record for most defeats (42) in World Cups.
As ICC have reduced the World Cup team slots to 10, Zimbabwe finally have lost their place to a rising Afghanistan team.
