The erupting scandal around the pilfering of DDCA funds, allegations which have been brought against BJP minister Arun Jaitley by his own party member and former cricketer Kirti Azad, blew up on Monday.
Kirti Azad sent out a tweet which says that he has received warnings of a threat on his life. He also seemed to suggest that he knew Arun Jaitley was the person who was behind this, also calling him ‘impotent’.
On the floor of the Parliament session on Monday, leader of the opposition Sonia Gandhi was seen asking Azad to speak on the DDCA scandal, who obliged, in full view of the rest of his own party. He demanded a CBI probe into his allegations, and signed off by reminding the House, "and we know who was heading the DDCA between 2008 and 2013," a reference to Mr Jaitley.
After Azad brought out the allegations against the former President of the DDCA on Sunday in a video conference, the revelation was met by a strong defence with an organised backing – as media houses started grilling Azad and AAP leaders over the accusations and international India cricketers tweeted their support for Jaitley.
Kirti Azad, one of India’s 1983 World Cup heroes, is not one to give up the fight however, as he rages on in unearthing Indian cricket administration’s can of worms.
However, in later developments in this ongoing issue, matters turned even more surreal as Azad tweeted that his account had been hacked into, and that he had not been the one calling Jaitley ‘impotent’.
