Delhi Premier League 2024: When and where to watch the tournament?

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced a new franchise league, named Delhi Premier League (DPL). The inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League will kick off on August 17 in Delhi.

A total of six men’s teams and four women’s teams will be competing in the first edition of the Delhi Premier League. 30 league games will be played in the men’s competition, followed by two semi-finals and the final. All games will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The women’s competition will comprise seven matches. The winner of the men’s competition will receive a prize of INR 1 crore. The tournament offers a great opportunity for the local players to showcase their skills and grab the attention of the selectors.

Six teams namely, Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Dilli-6, West Delhi Lions, and North Delhi Strikers will be playing in the men’s competition of the Delhi Premier League.

The likes of Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Ayush Badoni, Navdeep Saini, and Yash Dhull will be participating in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League. It will be a great moment for the young players in Delhi to share dressing room and rub shoulders with the best in the business.

The women’s competition will see four teams namely, East Delhi Riders, South Delhi Superstarz, North Delhi Strikers, and Central Delhi Queens.

Priya Punia, Shweta Sehrawat, Ayushi Soni, and Laxmi Yadav are the regular members of the Delhi team. The other players who will be competing in the Delhi Premier League 2024 will be eager to grab the opportunity that comes their way.

Delhi Premier League 2024: When to watch?

The Delhi Premier League 2024 commences on Saturday, August 17. The league stage will get over on Thursday, September 5. The two semi-finals will be played on September 6 and September 7. The grand final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 8.

The afternoon game on double-header days will begin at 2 PM IST. The evening games will kick off on 7 PM IST. The games on all days, other than double-header days, will start at 7 PM IST.

The women’s competition begins on September 2. A total of seven matches will be played in the women’s tournament and it will get over on September 7.
