Details of Pak players During SLPL

The inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League will feature 56 foreign cricketers after the seven franchises made their choices in a closed-door players’ draft system here. Australia, with 18, provided the most players for the franchises with 13 Pakistani players being the next highest. Not a single English or Indian player figures in the lists.

The non participation of Indian players in last year’s inaugural SLPL had forced the cancellation of the event.

Here are the details of the Pakistani players participating in the league:

1. Shahid Afridi

This dangerous right handed batsman is excited to play in SLPL. In an interview with daily The NEWS Afridi said: “It’s a good opportunity and I will try to make the most of it. There is a comfortable window for us [Pakistan's cricketers] to feature in the league in Sri Lanka. We have a sufficient break from international cricket this summer.”

He will be paid $50,000 and play for the Team Wayamba Wolves.

2. Shoaib Malik

The former Pakistan Captain is also eagerly waiting to feature in the league. He has signed up for the UVA Unicorns in and he will be paid $35,000.

3. Azhar Mahmood

After a successful stint at county cricket and the last edition of the IPL, Azhar Mahmood will feature for the team Wayamba Wolves. His earnings would be $30,000.

4. Umar Akmal

He is in good form and is likely to play in SLPL. He will also play for the Wayamba Wolves and will be paid $25,000.

5. Saeed Ajmal

The talented off spinner will play for SLPL Team Kandurata Kites and will be paid $25000.

6. Misbah Ul Haq

The dependable middle order batsman is in Kandurata Kites and he will be paid $25000

7. Umar Gul

The Pak paceman will play for Team Uva Unicorn and will be paid $25,000

8. Abdur Razzaq

$25,000 for Team Wayamba Wolves

9. Imran Nazir

$25,000 for Team Nagenahira Nagas

10. Imran Farhat

$20,000 for Team Uthura Oryxes

11. Ahmad Shehzad

$20,000 for Team Nagenahira Nagas

12. Sohail Tanvir

$20,000 for Team Kandurata Kites

13. Abdul Rehman

$20,000 for Team Uva Unicorns
