Just when the Indian dressing room was wondering if it could get any worse than losing by an innings and 37 runs, India captain M S Dhoni was handed with a one-match ban following the slow overrate India recorded in the third Test against Australia in Perth.
The news came just after India were trounced by Australia at Perth taking their tally to 7 consecutive away defeats. This was also their 4th innings defeat since the England tour.
Dhoni has faced similar over-rate problems against England at the Lord’s and it has costed him 60% of his match fee.
Virender Sehwag is tipped to lead the side in the fourth Test starting on January 24th at Adelaide. Wriddhiman Saha will be replacing Dhoni behind the stumps.
