Drawn in Group B, both teams enter the clash having already racked up two points. While England defeated Bangladesh in a tight contest, South Africa recorded a huge 10-wicket victory to kickstart their campaign.

With four of the five Group B teams garnering two points already, today's match is crucial. A win would push the team higher up the standings and would make them a strong favorites to qualify for the semifinals.

The last time the two teams locked horns was during the epic Women's T20 World Cup 2023 semi-final in Cape Town. South Africa stunned everyone and put up their best performance of the tournament to qualify for their maiden Women's T20 World Cup final. Unfortunately, they lost the summit clash against Meg Lanning's Australia.

In the semi-final, Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits had a superb 96-run opening stand. While Wolvaardt scored 53, Brits contributed 68. Marizanne Kapp also played a blistering 13-ball 27-run cameo to help South Africa post 164/4.

In reply, England were going strong at 132/3 at one point. However, a four-fer from Ayabonga Khaka and three wickets from pacer Shabnim Ismail restricted England to 158/8.
