The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recently announced their partnership with Royal London, United Kingdom’s largest mutual life and pensions company.
According to Marketing Magazine, Royal London have signed a four-year agreement with the ECB, and will replace NatWest as the headline partner for England in One-Day International matches. NatWest will continue to act as partner in the T20 format.
When asked about the sponsorship, pacer Stuart Broad said: “Commercial partners help raise the profile of the sport and make it easier for people to watch and get involved in. I always enjoy seeing commercial partners put on different events around the ground. I’m sure Royal London will do that – we’ve talked about big inflatable cricket balls – which makes it fun to come and watch the cricket.”
The alliance between the two is said to help enhance the consumer awareness of Royal London, an organisation which was founded 153 years ago.
