England vs India 2014 - 2nd Test: What everyone is saying about Lord's pitch

Amidst all the tension surrounding the James Anderson – Ravindra Jadeja incident, the two teams are getting ready for some much needed ‘quality’ cricket to be played at Lord’s in the second of the five Test match series.

India have a very poor record at the ground, winning just one in 16 attempts. India’s 11 losses at Lord’s are its highest at any ground in England, and the team will be looking forward to change it.

With India managing to hang around for a draw in the first Test of the tour, the second game is expected to be crucial for both the teams. With the Trent Bridge pitch receiving harsh criticism for its slowness which the curator himself admitted, the strip at Lord’s do offer a greenish look by the morning when the covers were taken off.

With a hot and sunny day predicted, the surface might soon dry up leaving the surface to behave on its own. Lord’s official twitter account warned the spectators to take guard against the sweat by tweeting the expected conditions.

However, ousted England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, who scored 5 Test hundreds at the ground including an unbeaten 202*, says it’s a pitch to bat first on winning the toss. The green, as suggested by Stuart Broad earlier, is deceptive and the pitch is expected to get easier for batting as the match progresses.
