England

<p>
Woakes and Bairstow stitched together a great partnership

1. Cook-3

He got off to a decent start but could not capitalize.

2. Jennings-2

This seems to be the end of Jennings with another poor performance.

3. Root-5

His captaincy was solid throughout this match and overshadowed his poor batting performance

4. Pope-5

The youngster looked in great touch and showed superb technique and temperament throughout this knock.

5. Bairstow-8

He continued his great year with the bat with another composed knock.

6. Butler-5

He was solid behind the stumps but did not do much with the bat.

7. Woakes-9.5

This was one of the best all-round performances of the year. Woakes was a matchwinner with both the ball and bat.

8. Curran-7

He batted decently and did not leak runs with the ball.

9. Rashid-0

He did not contribute anything in this test match.

10. Broad-8

He was solid in the first innings but was unplayable in the 2nd innings and completely ripped apart the Indian batting order with late swing.

11. Anderson-9

Another match and at 36 there is still no one in the world who can match the class and skill of Jimmy in these conditions.
