There are very few batsmen in this Indian team, who can say that they had a good series in England. Cheteshwar Pujara is one of them who had a good series with the bat.
Pujara was shockingly not picked for the first test at Edgbaston. He has been one of the most reliable test batsmen in the overseas recently and his omission in the first test obviously drew criticism.
In the third test at Nottingham, which India won Pujara played a crucial inning of 72 runs in the second innings. He was involved in a brilliant partnership with captain Kohli which helped India set a huge target.
In the fourth test match, Pujara showed his quality by scoring a 132*. He batted with the tail and took the Indian total ahead of The England total.
Pujara scored 278 runs in the series at an average of 39.71 with one hundred and one fifty.
