With question marks over his spot in the Test team, the right-hander potentially has four more matches to show his prowess and India will want to him to deliver in the game on Sunday as well as the remainder of the tour.

If he does well in the decider at Bristol and in the ODI series that follows, his strong performances will put the selectors in a tough spot ahead of the Test series.
